Book Bags

We like our students to take home their library books in a Book Bag each week.

This helps keep them safe from food,drinks and wet togs in their backpacks.

You don't have to use our bags but please provide a bag for your books.

These ones are available from the office.

Chess Club

This awesome chess set belongs to Mr Taylor-Hall.

He has kindly loaned it for display in the Hub.

Mr Taylor-Hall is in the Hub every Monday at lunchtime ready to play Chess.

String Art

It's tricky creating string art, but these students are having a go!
They are learning from each other and making their own designs.

The Learning hub has some awesome new books on "Making"in the 745.5 non-fiction section.

Maker Space

happens every Tuesday lunchtime in the Learning Hub.

                                                     

We provide activities that students can

create for themselves and teach each other.

Come and create with construction toys or
paper craft.

Try some problem solving tasks, create a marble run, string art or cardboard construction.

Some of our lucky Silverstream School students went to visit this author in Wellington.
He talked about getting story ideas and how to develop a storyline.
The school was given this drawing and it is on display in the Hub.
We have a box full of Dav Pilkey's books.
Just look for the box under"P "in the non-fiction area for all our Captain Underpants and Ricky Ricotta books.

3 D printing

 3 D Printing in the Learning Hub.

Would you like to have a go at 3D printing?

Many students are starting to learn how.

Firstly, they learn how to use TinkerCad the 3D design computer programme. 

Then they design their own name tag.

It is then sent to the 3D printer and their design becomes a reality!

Here are some Room 13 examples. Awesome job!

We have lots of books for you to take out.Just look for them in the new Super heroes Box.

You might even get to see Superman, Spiderman and his web.

Room 89 have produced some wonderful art work based on the book Mix It Up! They have learned how to mixed their own colours.

Mr Taylor -Hall is in the Hub every Monday with lots of Chess sets.
